GSNR Vice President Kevin Cann came to GSNR after a career in the National Park Service and 12 years as a Mariposa County, CA supervisor. Kevin’s professional experience includes 10 years as the Deputy Superintendent/Chief Operating Officer of Yosemite National Park overseeing 800 NPS and 2200 concession contracted employees. Kevin personally managed the $200 million Yosemite restoration after the largest flood of record destroyed much of the park’s infrastructure. He also worked closely with the US Forest Service in managing the lands of the greater Yosemite Forest ecosystem.
As a county supervisor Kevin was active in state and national county support organizations serving as Board Chair for the Rural County Representatives of CA, Chair of the Golden State Finance Authority, and as President of the Western Interstate Region (17 states) of the National Association of Counties. For three years Kevin represented all the nation’s counties on the National Wildfire Leadership Council.
Kevin’s work on national and state forest lands and long-term experience with elected bodies at all levels of government make him a welcomed addition to the GSNR leadership team.
